Breast Augmentation in the West Palm Beach area
Breast augmentation surgery, or fondly known as a 'boob job' is an extremely popular surgery at Hass Plastic Surgery. The procedure itself is a short operation in which implants are placed to under the patient's pectoralis muscle and breast tissue in order to increase size, fullness and even firmness for a woman's breasts. In some cases it is used for reconstruction after mastectomy, or to help correct a deformity due to a growth imbalance of the breast tissues from birth. Many times patients will choose breast augmentation to restore volume after pregnancy, nursing or significant weight loss.
At Hass Plastic Surgery, board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Brian Hass' approach to breast enhancement is based on the anatomic consideration of a patient's body shape, their breasts elasticity and their individual desires for size and fullness. Our patients are extremely happy with their results and Dr. Hass has a strong reputation for giving his patients the look they desire
Is breast augmentation right for you?
Keep in mind that cosmetic breast surgery is a highly individualized procedure and should be done for yourself, not to fulfill someone else's desires. This surgery is a good option for patients who are: healthy, have fully developed breasts and have realistic expectations. If you are bothered by the feeling that your breasts are too small, or if they have lost their shape, are uneven in size, or haven't developed normally, then you might be a good candidate for the surgery.
At our Hass surgery center, breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure in our AAAAASF operating suite, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It is performed under the IV or MAC sedation and the surgery usually takes less than 2 hours. After a brief recovery in our center our breast surgery patients will go home with a family member or friend. Most Hass patients find their recovery is fairly easy, but they may have mild soreness, swelling, some bruising and tenderness that generally lasts a few days to a couple weeks. Patients are instructed to rest for several days and avoid heavy lifting, strenuous exercise or activity for about 4 weeks post surgery. Most of our breast surgery patients find they can return to work within 3 - 7 days after surgery.

After you meet with our patient coordinator, Dr. Brian Hass will review the surgery and discuss your goals for your new look. He'll discuss size options, implant options and give you a complete assessment of how breast augmentation will look for you. After an initial consultation and surgery is scheduled a pre-operative appointment will be planned to review all details with the nurse and doctor. Cosmetic breast surgery patients will be required to have an updated mammography, be off blood thinning vitamins and supplements and receive a CBC (complete blood count) prior to surgery.
Breast implants are offered in a wide variety of sizes and profiles to give a woman a look she desires. Both the saline and the gel silicone implants have been proven to be safe, are FDA approved. Do keep in mind that saline implants can be used in women 18 years and over, however the silicone implants are approved for women 22 years and over unless used for reconstructive purposes.
When Dr. Hass consults with a patient, he provides size options that take into account both the patient’s goals and anatomic considerations. In our office we also use the Mentor Sizing System in which patients are able to 'try-on' their new look with various sizes of implants placed in a bra. We also use other techniques that can help a woman hone in on the new look she desires for herself.
Women often ask about the scarring with augmentation and for this reason Dr. Hass will make the incision in a discreet location on the breast to enhance the overall results of the surgery. The most commonly used incision choices are in the inframmory fold or along the edge of the areola. This decision will be based on the patient's wishes and her individual anatomy.
