There are many FDA approved fillers on the market that work well depending on which area of the face we are targeting. The products that we use are the hyaluronic acid based fillers which include Juvederm®, Voluma, Volbella, Restylane®, Lyft, Silk, and Belotero. Here at Hass Plastic Surgery we stay on top of the latest developments in the injectable arena in order to provide our patients with the newest and best options available. Whether it's temple hollows, mid-face volume loss, deeper facial folds, peri-oral lines or lips, our injectors provide each patient with a unique treatment plan to meet their overall aesthetic goals.

The use of Sculptra Aesthetic is another option that we provide to our patients who have more generalized or diffuse volume loss and are looking to address broad shallow areas. Sculptra is artfully injected to regenerate overall volume and overtime stimulate the patient's own collagen growth.

Each filler has unique properties that our injectors take into consideration when developing personalized treatment plans for our patients. We would love to see you at Hass Plastic Surgery for your complimentary filler consultation to determine which of our broad selection of filler options would get you to looking and feeling your very best.

What are my numbing options when getting fillers?

To prepare, we cover the treatment area(s) with topical numbing cream in order to enhance your comfort level. The injectable products are now also formulated with lidocaine for continual numbing throughout your procedure.

What are my risks?

The most common side effects are generally mild and consist of possible bruising, swelling and redness which may last up to two weeks after the injections.

How can I best prepare for a treatment?

We suggest our patients avoid aspirin, all vitamins, fish-oils and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory products for at least 10 -14 days prior to their treatment in order to minimize bruising. You will also want to avoid direct sun and extreme heat for several days following your injections. Additionally, we would like to know if you are prone to cold sores as you may want to consider pre-treatment with medication.

"Facial injectables should make someone look natural, not 'done', " says Dr. Andrea Hass.

What are my numbing options when getting fillers?

After Dr. Andrea or Dr. Brian Hass have examined you to determine the best options for your injectable procedures and your cosmetic goals, the staff at Hass Plastic Surgery & MediSpa will apply a thick layer of numbing cream on your skin 20 minutes prior to the procedure. Many fillers do contain lidocaine in their makeup so the numbing cream just adds additional comfort for the patient to tolerate the injections.

What are my risks?

The most common side effects are mild-to-moderate bruising and swelling. Many patients will experience immediate redness and swelling and in some cases this may last up to two weeks, but rarely three weeks. Make-up may be applied a few hours after treatment. Initially the treated area may feel slightly lumpy or look lumpy if you tighten the skin in those areas, however this should not be obvious with normal facial movements. We do ask that you allow two weeks for the treatment to settle before concerning yourself with the final results. It has been very rare to hear of any reports of allergic reactions, however if patients experience any reaction they should call our office.

How can I best prepare for a treatment?

We suggest our patients avoid aspirin, all vitamins, fish-oils and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory products for at least 10 -14 days prior to their treatment. Due to the blood thinning properties of those products, bruising can be enhanced if they are not stopped. We also suggest you avoid using retin-A or glycolic products for several days prior to injections. Avoid direct sun and extreme heat for several days following your injections, and if you are prone to cold sores, you may want to consider pre-treating with Valtrex prior to your treatment. Please advise our staff when making your appointment if you have had cold sores in the past. Finally, make sure you allow for some bruising when you plan your appointment. In other words, look at your social calendars so you can allow for healing time before any important events!

I was attracted by Dr. A's specialized training in ocular plastic surgery. I couldn't be more thrilled with my results.
