You Have a Choice in How You Age
Is your brow heavy and makes your eyes look tired or older? Dr. Andrea Hass, a board-certified ophthalmic plastic surgeon at Hass Plastic Surgery, offers brow lift surgery for men and women in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Palm Beach, Wellington, Delray Beach, and the surrounding areas of Florida. No facial evaluation is complete without consideration of the brow. As we age, the brow tends to descend over time due to genetics, and the downward pull of facial expressions when we frown or squint. This can easily create an angry look or contribute to the appearance of the upper lid hooding. Your Palm Beach Gardens Brow Lift consultation with Dr. Andrea Hass will always evaluate the brow position and how it plays a role in achieving each patient’s desired results.
Look as young as you feel
A Brow Lift, also known as a forehead lift, is an outpatient procedure that removes wrinkles from the forehead, elevates the brows, and smooths the forehead for a more youthful appearance. The brow lift is sometimes coupled with other treatments, such as a facelift or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), to provide a completely refreshed appearance. Your surgeon will assess your forehead and brow concerns during your appointment, explain your alternatives, and develop a personal treatment plan to achieve your aesthetic goals. Schedule your one-on-one consultation to learn more about brow lifts and if they are an ideal option for you.
In our practice, we prefer the endoscopic Brow Lift whenever the patient is a good candidate for this approach. This procedure involves five small incisions in the hairline, and this minimally invasive lift is performed using an endoscope and long slender instruments. This works best for the patient who has a low or normal hairline and desires a moderate amount of lift. The endoscopic approach may not always be the best option for patients who have a high hairline or who require significant lifting of the brow. For those patients, we offer a modified version of a more traditional brow lift, done in a way to minimize the upward displacement of the hairline.
Sometimes, a Brow Lift can be achieved using BOTOX to improve the brow position. This brow lift involves careful placement of BOTOX targeting the muscles that pull down on the brow, allowing the muscles that lift the brow to become relatively stronger. In this scenario, regular use of Botox can actually slow down the rate at which the brow descends naturally.
When Botox no longer does the trick, or in the case of significant brow ptosis (ptosis is Latin for ‘droop’), brow lift surgery may be required. There are three approaches to lifting the brow: the traditional coronal lift, an anterior hairline brow lift, and a minimally invasive endoscopic brow lift.
Make a change for you
An excellent candidate for a Palm Beach Gardens Brow Lift at Hass Plastic Surgery is someone who is in good health and does not smoke. Most women and men considering this procedure have deep horizontal lines on their foreheads, lines between their brows (known as the elevens), or low-set brows that make them appear irritated or fatigued. The endoscopic approach may not be the best option for patients with a high hairline or who require significant brow lifting. For those patients, we offer a modified version of the traditional brow lift, done in a way to minimize the upward displacement of the hairline.

Solutions customized with you
Your brow lift approach depends on your specific treatment plan. With our endoscopic Brow Lift Palm Beach Gardens patients can expect an outpatient procedure, but you will be under general or local anesthesia with IV sedation. It is advised to arrange ahead of time for a friend or relative to drive you home. Your doctor will use one of the several types of brow lift techniques discussed during your consultation. Your surgeon considers many factors when determining incision placement, such as the position of your hairline, your hair color, the thickness, and how you style your hair. In addition, your eyebrow thickness and asymmetry also play a role in determining your incision placement.
Subtle Change | Significant Results
It is advised that you take one to two weeks off work following your procedure to recuperate and heal thoroughly. Swelling and bruising are anticipated, but over-the-counter pain relievers may alleviate these symptoms. To avoid further swelling, you'll need to avoid intense activity for around four weeks. Your sutures are removed 7 - 10 days after surgery. It is critical to follow all post-operative recommendations to get the best possible results.
visible, lasting results
When the bandages are removed, you will notice a dramatic difference in the look of your forehead and brows. After any swelling and bruising have faded, the full benefits are visible after six months. Your brow lift will improve your appearance, however this procedure does not prevent aging. While your results may last up to 10 years, your skin and forehead will continue to age. The endoscopic approach may not always be the best option for patients who have a high hairline or who require significant lifting of the brow. For those patients, we offer a modified version of a more traditional brow lift, done in a way to minimize the upward displacement of the hairline.

Cosmetic surgical procedures are never permanent because aging and related changes continue over time. Some patients will repeat a brow lift in their lifetime, but many are happy with one surgery.
A Brow Lift has fewer problems and adverse effects than most other forms of cosmetic surgery. Risks include nausea, hematoma formation, and hair loss at the incision site, although these are rare.
A Brow Lift pulls the heavy brow tissue up and away from the eyes and often smooths the skin above the brow. For people with a naturally low brow, this lifts some of the weight off the lids and can give the eyes a more open appearance.
A blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the eye lids themselves, whereas a Brow Lift elevates the heavier skin above the eyes. Many patients need a combination of both blepharoplasty and brow lift.
Numbness of the scalp varies after a Brow Lift from very mild to completely numb. Typically sensation will begin to return within one month after surgery and can take as little as a few months to get better.
Forehead wrinkles are created from using the muscles to raise the position of the brow – frequently with expression or as an effort to make the eyes appear more open. A brow lift does not eliminate these wrinkles – BOTOX and Dysport or other neurotoxins do.
The cost of a Brow Lift is not covered by health insurance since it is a cosmetic procedure. Hass Plastic Surgery provides payment and financing alternatives to make things easier for you.
